Telling the stories behind how Canada builds and creates
Most stories about Canadian makers focus on the outcome. CanMakes goes somewhere else.
It's a documentary series about the decisions, constraints, and trade-offs behind building something with intention in Canada, the part of the process that rarely gets told.
Each episode follows one person, in their space, doing their work. The conversation isn't about success. It's about how they actually think: what they protect, what they sacrifice, and what guides them when the easier path would be to compromise.
How it works
A few hours of filming. A conversation in your space. Produced by an award-winning photographer and strategist with deep editorial experience, including work for the Financial Times, The New York Times, Bloomberg, and AFP, and formerly staff content producer for the Governments of Canada and the United Kingdom.
Participants receive a short film of genuine quality and select footage for their own use.
Who it features
Founders and operators. Makers and manufacturers. Specialists doing work most people never see. Based in Ontario, expanding across Canada.
